To begin with, I'm neither a Florida lawyer, nor an estate planning lawyer, so I apologize in advance if my questions are rudimentary and/or don't make sense. That said, I'm hearing that, presumably for tax planning purposes, private equity groups in other states are utilizing Florida trusts to acquire, for example, interests in entities owned by Florida residents. Is this a planning technique you're familiar with and/or would recommend? Thanks for any assistance.
